We arrived 10 minutes before the kick off - too late to get a programme, and as the teams were announced on the tannoy as we walked to the ground, no idea of the line-ups. Luckily Heanor tweet their line-up so we could at least identify the new additions to their team - nothing from Staveley though.
Greeted inside the ground by our good friends Barry and Judith from Loughborough. A smashing couple who are soon to celebrate 41 years of marriage ....and they still stroll around hand in hand! Magic!! Also had a word with Scarborough boss Rudy Funk, who is quite happy with his teams start to the season. We have a lot of time for the Funkster, and wish him the success his hard work deserves.

The game was very even for the first half-hour, but it took two world class saves from Heanor keeper Simon Lillie on 31 and 35 to keep the Staveley scoresheet blank. The keeper was unable to do anything with 2 minutes of the first half left though, Staveley's no. 11, KYLE HAWTHORNE was left unmarked at the far post and hammered the ball into the roof of the net, after the home defence had failed to stop the cross from the right. H-T 0-1
Joined by Pinxton joint boss Glen Clarence at half time - his charges have a tough Vase tie on Saturday against Heather St. Johns.
Heanor had a couple of decent chances before they drew level on 73. Nathan Benger had an effort cleared off the line, then sub Graham Wells had a bullet header crash off the post. It was WELLS who levelled for Heanor on 73, ramming home at the far stick, after Benger's initial shot had been blocked.
Lillie made another string of fine saves to keep Heanor in the game, but had a rush of blood in the 79th minute, leaving his near post and upending a Staveley player - the Referee had no choice other than to award a penalty. Lillie managed to push away the spot kick, but SCOTT McGRORY reacted quickest and smashed home the loose ball with the home defenders rooted. F-T 1-2
