Another defeat for the Yellows, but once again they more than held their own against Mickleover Sports at Watnall Road. Watched by new boss Gary Sucharewycz, the home team gave a spirited performance and will have given "Scrabble" food for thought. Several new players are reported to be on the way to Hucknall, among them former favourite Ali Asher.
Two defensive lapses yet again proved to be the Yellows' downfall, but despite those mishaps, the home team battled well in the second half and were arguably worth a point. On another day, Julian Topliss would have had a hat-trick,
Tom Gutteridge in the Sports goal was on top form, making four or five decent saves. Town keeper Jason Fisher also made some fine saves, but will be a little disappointed to concede two sloppy goals.
In the 40th minute, a defensive mix up in the six-yard box presented the unmarked MICHAEL WILLIAMS with a glancing touch that saw the ball end up in the back of the net. H-T 0-2
In the second half, Hucknall battled well and never gave up, but some inspired keeping by Gutteridge meant the home team ended the game pointless. No notes second half - it was far too cold to take the gloves off!!
