A slightly flattering result for the Lions - the better football was played by their opponents, but whilst the Liversedge chances went a-begging, Heanor took theirs with some elan.
We've not been regular visitors to the Town Ground this season, so a lot of the players are new names to us. Liversedge? I know very little about the West Riding outfit - I do know that former Eastwood Town legend Peter Knox signed for the Badgers from Liversedge - that's about it!
KYLE BRYANT hit the first of the Heanor goals in just the 6th minute - firing home a stunning 25 yarder that keeper Ryan Blyth tried desperately to keep out, his fruitless dive ending with him clattering the upright resulting in him having to receive treatment.
A little blurred - but from over 100 yards away - great pics Kev!
Half-time saw me make a journey to the Heanor Town boardroom to collect a raffle prize. Usually wine or biscuits - I have a lot of wine, and biscuits are no longer part of my diet - so it was a pleasant surprise to receive a £10 M & S voucher! Mrs. Kev will appreciate it, no doubt!
Heanor increased their lead on 69 when an inch perfect cross in from the right wing from Neil Grayson was met by a powerful DWAYNE WILEY header. Six yards out - keeper no chance!
Liversedge kept battling though, but just couldn't find the target. With 10 to go they finally had to admit defeat when sub JOSH THOMAS fired the ball at goal from 15 yards out and Blyth inexplicably let the ball roll underneath his body allowing it to trickle over the line. F-T 3-0
