Hucknall Town 0-4 Halesowen Town

Town's last home game of the season - and yes, we took in all 21 games!! Home record reads : P21 W1 D2 L18...not exactly what we expected when we decided to go the season ticket route!!!

At least we had a bit of sunshine to brighten up the afternoon - and Hucknall had the bonus of a crowd of 154, although we reckon there were only a handful of Yellows supporters present.

The Yeltz almost scored after just 18 seconds, Ben Haseley's effort though slid just past the outside of the post.  The home team looked as though they could at least give their visitors a game, but again they were let down by defensive frailties - both Ryan Cheetham and Josh Stolworthy out-muscled by HASELEY who went on to fire past Hucknall keeper Michael Yates with 22 minutes played.

Cheetham again showed his inexperience for the second goal - allowing HASELEY to get in front of him to prod home a cross from the left. Haseley is the top scorer in the NP1S and has just been voted Evo-Stik player of the season. How CML defenders are supposed to cope with talent like this God only knows. They obviously can't, but at least they now have only two more games in the Evo-Stik League before they can return to a level more suited to their abilities. H-T 0-2

The second half became the Michael Yates show, as he made save after save from the Halesowen strikers. Haseley and Gavin Winsper were foiled on several occasions - then the non-stop attacking play brought out a cracking rendition of  "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" from the Halseowen faithful behind the Salterford Road goal!

Diminutive no. 9 Tom Warmer tried his luck from 20 yards on 80 - and saw his terrific curling shot crash of the angle of bar and post. Soon after, the same player brought out a fine diving finger-tip save from Yates, but the keeper blotted his copy book from the resultant corner, palming the set piece straight into his own net.

The travellers netted again as the game drew to a close - WINSPER nodding home unchallenged from a free-kick. F-T 0-4
