Almost gave this a miss as we were thinking of going to AFC Mansfield v Linby. Although the home team were on the receiving end of a bit of a drubbing, the game wasn't half bad - and with Danny Staley and Richard Lane to keep us company, we had a very pleasant, if not chilly, evening.
Real move up to 5th in the CML South table after this victory, whilst Town remain third bottom. The visitors took the lead in the 9th minute, when a speculative 25 yard low drive from CALLUM MOSS that flew through a crowded area and found the bottom corner of the home net.
3 minute later, United's lead was increased courtesy of a thumping OG from CAMERON DAVIDSON. It was 0-3 after just a quarter of an hours play - Jaylee Hodgson picking out DALTON STEPHENS who raced in on goal before slotting home.
Town reduced their arrears on 31 when KAMAR DAVIS unleashed an unstoppable drive from 25+ yards that left the visiting keeper grasping at thin air. H-T 1-3
Real were gifted their fourth goal on 72 minutes. The home keeper collected the ball to end another attack, but as he bowled the ball out, it hit a defender and fell straight to the feet of JAYLEE HODGSON who couldn't believe his luck. The well-travelled Montserrat international wasted no time in smashing the ball into the back of the net.
STEPHENS netted his second on 85, then "GINGE" rose like a salmon to nod home Tobias Richardson's superb cross with 89 on the clock. We couldn't put a name to the lad, but politically incorrect or not, his team mates all called him "Ginge", although I couldn't imagine where the nickname originated!!
The Real no. 8 prodded home the visitors' seventh in stoppage time, giving a scoreline that somewhat flattered the away team. F-T 1-7
