Under 19 football resumed for "ontheroad" in 2013, with a little gem of a game. For the first 25 minutes or so it seemed that it would be a case of "how many" for the home team as they cruised into a 2-0 lead.
But Pinxton came out after the break and turned the game on it's head - ending the game with all three points in the bag. Craig Langton did not officiate as per the programme!
MARCUS FLETCHER put the Eagles ahead in the 4th minute, heading home a perfectly placed free-kick from Joe Brothwell. FLETCHER was on hand again on 23 when the Arnold no.8 played the ball across the goal, finding the striker unmarked just a couple of yards from goal. Pinxton rallied a little as the half drew to a close, but showed no signs of what was to come after the break. H-T 2-0
LEE FAZAKERLEY brought the visitors back into the game in the 57th minute, drilling home from 12 yards after the home defence failed to clear a corner from the right.
Pinxton never allowed Arnold to settle after that, and when Greg Marriott floated a free-kick into the area, ANT TIMMONS was left on his own and had ages to pick a spot before nodding past the Arnold keeper.
The comeback was complete after 77 minutes had been played, a penalty kick awarded for a seemingly innocuous challenge, hammered home by GREG MARRIOTT.
Left a tense few minutes for Pinxton to see out, but by this time Arnold had more or less convinced themselves that the cause was lost. F-T 2-3
What a great two quids worth ! Richard Riley was very pleasant company, but the attendance was a disappointing 33.
